Man, I have such a shit attention span. I don't even know what my deal is. I've started writing this one mission so many times and I got a bit into the scene, then decided maybe it should go down a different way and started to rewrite it, then decided I should stop and think about what made the most sense.

So of course somehow in the process of "stopping and thinking" I ended up going all over the place to ljs, wiki, reading the newest Naruto chap because the newest One Piece isn't out yet, etc. 45 minutes later and I just realized I still don't know the answer to my question.

And of course, I can't get this fucking scene out of my head so I have to finish this before I can consider working on Evenfall ch 4 edit, which I did a little bit of work on awhile ago but... yeah. Didn't get far because then I was all obsessed about how this mission will affect the interlude after it that Sonny and I are writing out together so I have to finish this before a scene in that interlude or we'll have to edit later... blah blah blah...

I feel like my attention didn't always suck this bad. I think the internet has corrupted me even more than I already was. Because before, I had to go grab books or turn on the tv or do other things to allow myself to get distracted and my laziness tended to stop that. Here, I can just open a new tab and away I fucking go.

Shit, guyz, it's all gorgeous!face outside today, too. Maybe I'll bring my friend's loaned mini!laptop out and try writing outside. If I'm away from people and computers w/ the intrawebz, I tend to do better with finishing things...

Of course, the ironic thing is when I'm focused on something, I can be REALLY FOCUSED-- like, to the point that I'll forget to eat or drink or do anything else because I'm so intent on finishing writing or whatever. I'm just always too much one way or the other is what it comes down to -_-

I keep considering putting "icos" or "in the company of shadows" or even something about Sin and Boyd as an interest in my lj profile just to see what happens... but I don't because 1) it would probably seem self-serving since I'm the co-author, 2) I'd be the only one who has it XD So you'd click it to see who else and I'd be all alone on an empty page.

For some reason this idea really amuses me and makes me even more tempted to do it, though XD

Note: You may recall that Choosing a Candidate was originally chapter 3. We completely redid that chapter and made it ch 2 instead. The training section that's currently chapter 4 will either be completely redone and just moved to chapter 3, or will be split into 3 and 4, depending on how long it ends up being.

That was another thing I was supposed to be writing on my laptop this week >_<;

I was in the other room and due to an apparently precarious Sprite bottle, an entire mason jar of water just spilled all over my laptop. I'm talking the entire thing, pouring right onto the keyboard, pouring out by the battery, going into the area with the motherboard. Everyfuckingwhere.

I tried to soak it all up immediately and I pulled out the battery and removed all the covers I could to try to soak up any water that had made its way into the components, but even then water was dripping out the DVD player and it just seems to have gotten everywhere in the entire laptop. When I thought I had it all cleaned up, I'd set the laptop down and then pick it up and there's more water sitting in little puddles.

Finally the water seems to have been pretty much taken care of and I currently have the laptop unplugged and sitting off to the side, hopefully drying overnight.



Irony #1: I was just thinking how I could be writing a chapter I could do on my own this week while I'll be out of my apartment for two nights. I'm pretty sure the storytelling gods were yelling at me THOU SHALT NOT WRITE SEX.

Irony #2: I've been needing to bring the laptop in for over a year because the express port has been fucked from the start. If I'd just done that like I'd intended to this last week, it wouldn't have even been here to be spilled on.

Saving Grace #1: My laptop made the "I'm restarting" noise which is what attracted my attention so at least this this didn't happen overnight and I caught it pretty quickly.

Saving Grace #2: It was water and not the Sprite or jasmine tea + plain soy milk concoction sitting right next to the water.

Saving Grace #3: At least I have a desktop -_-

Overall impression: I'm pretty much probably fucked but we'll see.

Man... I'd be pissed but it's like. Well, first of all it was all my fault. Secondly, it's so damn ironic that I can't even fully be angry. I guess I'll reserve the annoyance/anger for if I find out it's dead. Even then I'll see if my brother can help me.

And I guess if he can't.... well. Maybe my next laptop can have a firewire port and maybe not be so hot and idk. Not have a damn shiny screen.

I want my laptop to be okay, though T_T Not only do I not technically have the money to buy a new one, I've only had the damn thing for like a year and a half and have only really been using it frequently for the last year or less. I didn't even do a full backup on all the shit like I'd intended to before I was home for a week, either. Fuuuuck... Thank god most of the writing for the story is online >_<

What will I do without my laptoppppp? *whinewhine*

I help my dad with some web-related things and he always gets mad when I don't respond to him to let him know I received his email/phone messages. So he called me at midnight on Sunday evening and then called me again a few times and then again toward the end of work so I told him I'd fix stuff tonight.

Anyway, he was chastising me so I started explaining how I'd been all dead tired, and I forgot to check my email, and forgot to call him back, and I was going to tonight anyway after work, etc. I ended up talking about how I've been having a hard time sleeping lately when suddenly:

Dad: I think you should write a book
me: *startled* What?
Dad: I think you should write a book
me: *amused* About what? My inability to sleep properly?
Dad: It should be called, 'My Most Excellent Book of Excuses'
me: XD I bet one exists already-- I'll just send you a copy. I'll be like, "Flip to page 93, please. 210 may also apply."
Dad: I swear, you have more excuses than anyone else. I think you already have a file on your computer and you just scroll through them to see which one works.

In other news, I recently reacquired a number of manga that had been lent out for over a year. It was like opening a present to find them all, to rediscover what I even owned.

I forgot how much I like Desire (Yabai Kimochi, which doesn't that mean Bad Feeling? Or is my Japanese way out of whack? -- oh, this says Dangerous Feelings) and Constellations in my Palm (Tenohira no Seiza)...

It makes me want to buy more that HONAMI Yukine illustrates because she always works with authors who have such bittersweet stories T_T

I gotta check out if KAZUMI Maki writes anything else... Oh, not much =( But there is a novel...

FYI, we're going to be editing Evenfall and making the especially terrible parts of it not suck so bad.

We both had some major issues with the first several chapters of Evenfall, since a lot of it was not really accurate after we'd developed the world/characters better and were taking the story more seriously.

Chapter One

at the moment, Chapter One is really like, chapter one and two. Stuff will be moving around so eventually it should mostly even out.

THE IMPORTANT INFO: Chapter one is completely NEW material, a scene that you won't have seen before. The prologue is a conglomeration of scenes that were edited from what was there before and updated/enhanced/etc so you may recognize parts of it.

So I know about dumpster diving but I didn't realize there's actually a term and a subculture of people who live their lives utilizing the garbage of others... Pulling out food from dumpsters, or furnishing their houses from trash, wearing clothes that were trash... Although the main thing is the food; I think the other stuff is probably byproducts of the lifestyle or maybe was just what the people who the show I was watching chose to do.

In other news, I wish my freaking ear would stop ringing. idk I can't tell if I have an ear infection or if it's more innocuous. I've done stuff to make it go away but then it keeps coming back, which may be related to the fact that I wear ear plugs at night. When I don't wear the ear plugs, it seems to mostly go away by the next day but I can't totally tell because I've also been getting sick and it comes back.

I'm gonna have to go in to the doctor's soonish if it doesn't let up but I don't want to. Because, well. Money.

Yet another thing I see as wasted money... doctor visits. I used to be a hypochondriac and I got so sick of going into the doctor's office and being told I was fine and nothing was wrong or it was just a virus and I needed to deal... then realizing how much money I was costing my parents. It made me feel guilty. So now I don't go in even when I should.

Which became a problem when I had shingles so XD I guess I'll have to see.

I forgot to do the update over here at lj earlier...

The stories between Afterimage and Book 3 (Fade) are now being posted.

They are standalone stories that occur between the two books and switch back and forth between point of views and different story lines.

To understand the events that will happen at the start of Fade, it's a good idea to read the Interludes.

Interesting... I just ran across this History of Sex . Apparently in medieval times, men and boys were given tips on how to properly interact with female prostitutes, who were considered a remedy for widespread homosexuality.

I don't understand how people who are all hating on homosexuality now (as if it's some sort of new scourge for humanity) fail to realize that it's something that's been around in many cultures for many centuries?

I finally deleted all my excess icons so I could get rid of the ugly ones I had as choices. Now the 6 are at least more of a range of emotions. It kind of sucks because I lost all the notations of where the old icons came from (I made pretty much all of them but I would say what episode etc it was from) which is why I hadn't deleted them earlier. But I don't feel like spending money for extra icons right now and the selection I had was driving me nuts.

So then I decided-- you know what? Fuck it. I don't care.

And I deleted them.

And that's the end of that story...

Dear cursive Russian,

It is bad enough that some of your typed letters look like English letters but have completely different pronunciations. (Please see C, P, B, H, Y, and X for reference.) I have just become accustomed to the correct Russian pronunciations of these typed letters when I have been informed that you, sir, change everything.

I would like to inquire as to why ж, м, н, т, ш, and щ must all look so alike when written in cursive. At least you have made uppercase T look different; however, these letters not only are quite similar to each other, but they also seem as though they will blend quite phenomenally into a long, indistinguishable line of bumps when placed next to each other for a word. (Please reference Елыцин, Жена, Машина, Ужин, and Япония as examples).

In addition, please explain to me why lower case д must look like the English lower case g, when the upper case is appropriately like our D? Furthermore, why must uppercase г look like our uppercase T when the letter is pronounced like G?

I am submitting a formal request for you to make more sense so native English speakers such as myself will find it easier to learn you.
